William J. Quinones-Baldrich MD, SCVS President, 2016-2017 It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the 45th president of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery. I congratulate and thank Dr. Tom Bower for his time and commitment to our Society. The 44th annual symposium was a resounding success with record number of abstract submissions and outstanding presentations. Will Jordan is to be commended for his efforts as program Chairman. We welcomed 484 attendees which, included members, fellows, residents, students, and guests. This provided a unique opportunity for presentation of original work, updates on ongoing projects and national clinical trials through both podium and poster presentations. The Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery is pleased to announce, with support from Gore & Associates, another year of an exciting program for Senior Vascular Residents (PGY 6/7) on Saturday, March 18 as part of the SCVS Annual Symposium. In order to be eligible for this program you should currently be a Fellow PGY 6/7 OR for 0-5 Programs a PGY 4 or 5. If you are not in one of these programs you are not eligible. Acceptance into the SCVS Fellows Program includes complimentary meeting registration for the SCVS Annual Symposium, three nights room and tax at the host hotel, and airfare compensation. Top Gun Program, March 20Top Gun Program

This exciting competition provides an opportunity for young surgeons to fine-tune their surgical skills in a safe, simulated environment. The program will take place as part of the SCVS Annual Symposium. On Monday, March 20 and Tuesday March 21, instructional sessions provide an opportunity for trainees to learn from national faculty and practice their open vascular and endovascular skills on a variety of simulators that will be used in the competition. The preliminary rounds of the competition will be held on Monday, March 20. The Top Gun Final Round of the competition will include winners from the Preliminary Round and be held on Tuesday, March 21. Admission to the SCVS Top Gun Program will include complimentary meeting registration to attend the 2017 SCVS Annual Symposium (including all social functions). The Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery along with support from Cook Medical is offering an exciting program again dedicated to the needs of 3rd-5th year residents accepted to a Vascular Fellowship on March 19 & 20 as part of the SCVS Annual Symposium. In order to be eligible for this program you should currently be a PGY 4/5 in General Surgery Program or for 0-5 Programs a PGY 3. Visit the program's website.

This program is designed for vascular surgeons who have completed fellowships and have been working for five years or less. The program will take place as part of the SCVS Annual Symposium. The program is scheduled for Monday, March 20 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The program includes a dinner symposium featuring talks from leaders in vascular surgery. Admission to the Young Vascular Surgeons Program will include one night room and tax at Disney Beach & Yacht Club. Apply today!
